Organize an evening around the pool with eight ideas
Eight decorative ideas for organizing a pool party
Are you lucky enough to have a swimming pool and want to
take advantage of it to organize a pool party? Discover all our tips to
transform your exterior into a fun and friendly space day and night! Lighting,
seating, dining area and snacks, accessories for fun, musical or cinematic
evenings. Here are eight ideas for hosting a pool party.
1. Multiply the seats
For your guests to be as comfortable as possible, you need
to provide them with as much seating: hammock, deckchair and sun lounger,
outdoor lounge chairs and armchairs, and pouffes. Create several relaxation
areas in your garden. Fans of upcycled decor can also embark on making garden
furniture set out of a wooden pallet. As for those on a tight budget, you can
install outdoor mats with cushions and floor mats.
2. Provide a kitchen or bar area
For a successful pool party, there must be a kitchen area
and a bar area so that your guests can refresh themselves and eat their fill at
any time. You won't have to do anything if you have a summer kitchen. You can
set up a table to place a sideboard for others. You can also provide a barbecue
or a plancha. You can create a tiki bar with glass drinking fountains on the
bar side. To keep drinks (bottles, cans), we love the idea of diverting a
wheelbarrow to fill it with ice cubes!
3. Set up a shady corner
Setting up a shaded area is essential if your event starts
during the day: parasols, canvases and shade sails, pergolas, and gazebos. The
solutions are multiple, and it all depends on your decorative style or the chosen
theme. For an exotic pool party, we think, for example, of the straw parasol.
For a rustic or romantic pool party, we instead imagine a pergola filled with
flowers.
4. Have fun with inflatable floats and mattresses
Day or night, inflatable buoys will be the stars of your
pool party. In recent years, buoys and inflatable mattresses have taken on
disproportionate shapes and are dressed in more amusing shapes than each other.
Unicorn, flamingo, doughnut, a slice of pizza, fruit, ice cream, mojito. In addition
to being fun, inflatable mattresses and buoys add colour and significantly
contribute to creating a festive atmosphere!
5. Decorate the pool with balloons
In addition to buoys and inflatable mattresses, you can
decorate your pool with balloons. You can let them float on the water's surface
(provided there is no wind in the weather), hang them on a structure or a tree
around the pool or create a surprise by ballasting them with weights that you
can attach to the end of a rope or wire and then plunge them to the bottom of
the pool. You will then get balloons that levitate above the water.
6. Invest in a waterproof speaker
To dance throughout your pool party, you must provide
speakers. Why not invest in a waterproof speaker to bring the music closer to
the pool? Enough to avoid damaging conventional speakers by dropping them in
the water or splashing them!
7. Don't skimp on light fixtures
To enjoy your evening around the pool and prolong the party
until the night's end, do not skimp on the lighting! Install light garlands in
the trees and on the fences, stick bamboo torches in the grass to mark an alley
or a path, and put lanterns around the pool. And to illuminate the pool (in
addition to the traditional recessed spotlights), you can set your sights on
floating lanterns that will sublimate the collection after dark.
8. Set up a projector for an outdoor movie night
How about organising an outdoor cinema session for a pool
party evening that ends gently? Simply install a projector outside, providing a
giant extension cord or an electric reel to bring power to the garden. Open-air
cinema evening is yours, from the swimming pool for the less cautious or around
the swimming pool from the various relaxation areas you will have fitted out.
